Artist Introduction
Introduction and Experience
As a senior industrial designer and sculptor with nearly 40 years of experience, I like to subvert people's understanding of "art" and "design". Sculpture creation is three-dimensional, multi-faceted, dynamic and infinitely changing, so these two should not be limited or separated. There should be more freedom when coming up with ideas. Although it is impossible to satisfy everyone, it must be unique. I hope that my metal sculpture creations are closer to people's life.
I studied and worked in Japan from the age of 20 to 30. During my university years, I took metal sculpture for three semesters. It has always been my favorite art form. Creation is a free and unrestrained aesthetic expression. So at the end of 2019, I decided to retire and establish my own studio. I follow the Japanese belief of "craftsmanship" and use the delicate techniques of craftsmanship to forge and refine metal into the works of art in my mind, conveying more connections and emotions to people's life aesthetics.
"Art that needs no explanation and no compromise can blend into the surroundings of life and become a part of people's lives."
