Artist Introduction

Introduction and Experience
Gabriel Picart's style was heavily influenced by the realist master Diego Velázquez. The renowned Spanish illustrator Enrico and the world's most important cartoonist, Pepe González, jointly invited Gabriel to visit their studio. Under the guidance of these two masters, Gabriel quickly learned the secrets of figure drawing, as well as techniques for mixing paints, canvas handling, rendering techniques, and the application of various media surface techniques.
In 1985, Gabriel began collaborating with SI International in New York, who commissioned him to create illustrations for some of Europe's finest artists, launching his professional art career. He quickly rose to prominence illustrating for major publishers in the United States and Canada. He also illustrated for advertising agencies, graphic design firms, and housing catalogs. His distinctive and refined artistic style garnered praise from art directors. In addition to illustration, Picart also dedicated time to painting and began showcasing his work.
In 1996, his first solo exhibition was held at the Wolf Walker Gallery in Sedona, Arizona. He then participated in a group exhibition at the Ambassador Gallery in New York, gaining a reputation that surpassed that of several leading Spanish contemporary figure painters at the time. Since 1996, he has devoted himself to being a full-time professional painter, and his work has been broadcast in some of the most prestigious galleries in the United States, attracting the attention of top collectors.
Picart's paintings are entirely in the realist style, a true magic he has discovered in painting. Picart's paintings are quite time-consuming, resulting in a limited output, and his works are held in museum collections. Picart's paintings have attracted the special attention of outstanding art critics and collectors, and have been exhibited alongside works by masters such as Chagall, Miró, Dalí, and Picasso in top American galleries, notably at the Anderson Gallery. Simultaneously, Picart is dedicated to promoting children's art education. Currently, based on his own fairy tales, and loving children, he is tirelessly developing inspiring and creative multimedia art teaching programs for children.
