Artist Introduction

Introduction and Experience
During his youth, Jian Chongzhi spent ten years living on the Aba Plateau, immersing himself in the snowy plateau and the vast forests. He was the first painter in China to discover and depict Jiuzhaigou. He painted a large number of landscape sketches there. His paintings are rich in color, diverse in technique, and express his feelings, conveying the fusion and dialogue between his soul and nature.
He became active in the Chinese art scene in the mid-1970s and has won widespread praise and acclaim at home and abroad for his unique landscape paintings. He is one of the representatives of the Bashu School of painting in China and the Sichuan painter with the most works in the collection of the National Art Museum of China.
Chien Chung-Chih is a man who blends life with nature; he is unrestrained yet deeply passionate about painting. Through creating and appreciating beautiful landscapes, he hopes to draw more attention to the environment we depend on for survival, to make people understand the importance of living in harmony with nature in human development, and to call on people to love and protect nature with a sense of awe.
