Introduction and Experience
Olga & Sergey Kamennoy (KAMU) is a duo of Russian and Ukrainian artists known for their unique "yin and yang" art style. Their works juxtapose graceful female figures with masculine medieval battle scenes, creating a strong and distinctive visual contrast.
KAMU’s creative process embodies perfect complementarity: Sergey is responsible for the structure and lines of the work, using his expertise in drawing, sculpting and etching techniques to lay a solid foundation for the painting; while Olga breathes life into the work, not only as the model and muse in the painting, but also responsible for the color scheme and the detailed depiction of the female face.
Their works are unique in technique, skillfully combining acrylic paint, oil paint, and gold leaf to create rich layers and luster. Drawing inspiration from medieval stained glass, Gothic reliefs, and Art Nouveau, the artists blend ancient patterns with contemporary methods, giving their works a timeless appeal.
KAMU's artistic achievements are remarkable, having won the Kandinsky Prize and the Paris City Bronze Medal. His works are collected by numerous important museums worldwide, including in Russia, Italy, and France. Their unique style and profound cultural connotations make their works highly sought-after and collectible in the contemporary art market.
