Introduction and Experience
Li Baiming (b. 1981, Harbin, China) graduated from the School of Fine Arts at Harbin Normal University in 2007 with a Master of Arts degree. He currently teaches in the Department of Chinese Painting at the same institution and is a member of the China Artists Association. Rooted in the visual language of traditional Chinese painting, Li’s practice extends the material and spiritual traditions of ink art while incorporating focal perspective and contemporary spatial sensibilities to reflect his personal vision and modern experience.
Li’s work frequently centers on snowy landscapes and memories of his hometown, drawing deeply from the atmospheric identity of Northeast China and his own emotional recollections. His Hometown Memories series portrays old houses and winter scenes that preserve the collective memory of a changing city while evoking the warmth of childhood remembrance.
Through quiet and contemplative ink landscapes, Li invites viewers to reconnect with moments of stillness and emotional intimacy amid the accelerating rhythms of contemporary urban life. Balancing technical refinement with a deep sense of memory and nostalgia, his works reflect an enduring emotional connection to place, history, and lived experience.
