Artist Profile

Introduction and Experience
Lin Xuewei (b. 1962, Harbin, China) is a distinguished painter and the current Dean of the School of Art at Harbin University of Science and Technology. He graduated in 1984 from the prestigious Oil Painting Department of the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts and was honored in 2007 as one of the “Top 100 Elite Artists in Chinese Art Collecting.”
Rooted in rigorous academic training, Lin’s practice is defined by a disciplined command of form, structure, and spatial perspective. His work consistently engages with the tension between human intervention and the natural world, often juxtaposing the constructed rigidity of urban environments with the fluidity of organic life. Through these visual dialogues, he reflects on human consciousness, collective values, and the enduring pursuit of harmony between humanity and nature.
Lin’s works have been exhibited internationally, with notable showcases in Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Russia. His paintings are held in the permanent collections of major museums as well as private collectors worldwide.
