Artist Profile

Introduction and Experience
Marta Argentina García Suárez (b. 1956, Asturias, Spain) began her artistic journey in Reus, Tarragona, training under the painter Vicenç Ferrer. She later advanced her studies at the School of Art and Design of the Diputació de Tarragona, specializing in "Procedimientos Pictóricos" (Painting Techniques).
Working across oil, collage, and mixed media, García Suárez employs a versatile and expressive approach. Her practice captures a poetic dialogue between serene natural landscapes and vibrant scenes of daily life, conveying a profound sense of warmth, tranquility, and interiority.
Her work has garnered significant international recognition, including a Special Mention at the GIR ART competition in Calafell, an Honorable Mention from Anquin’s Gallery, and the Gallery Award at the 2020 Art Revolution Taipei. A finalist in the 8th Montblanc Art Biennial, she has held numerous solo exhibitions at prestigious venues, including Galeria d'Art Augusta in Barcelona and the COARTE Art Museum in A Coruña. Notably, she represented Spain at the Isaac Levitan Museum in Russia—the nation's only institution dedicated exclusively to landscape painting.
Now based in Tarragona, Spain, her daily surroundings serve as a perennial source of inspiration for a practice rooted in atmosphere and a sensitive appreciation of the everyday.
