Artist Profile

Introduction and Experience
Mayra D'Amore (b. 1974, Buenos Aires) moved to Barcelona with her family at the age of two and is currently based in Santa Coloma de Farners, Catalonia. Formerly an illustrator, she has since dedicated her practice fully to painting. As a landscape artist, she draws inspiration from the coastal wetlands and forests of Catalonia, weaving together influences from Symbolism, the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, and the visual language of sci-fi anime.
Within her lush, verdant forests lies a surreal sense of dreamlike mystery—vibrant yet enveloped in a lingering, ethereal mist. Her work is defined by exquisite details that remain hauntingly elusive, employing a romantic palette to create "Western Secret Realms" that evoke the contemplative depth of Eastern ink wash painting.
Since 2016, her career has been marked by at least 4 solo exhibitions and 23 group exhibitions, with recognition in twenty award-based competitions.
