Old Man and Farewell
Introduction and Experience
Mustafa Yüce (b. 1978, Simav, Turkey) is a contemporary artist whose practice bridges hyperrealist precision with a sustained engagement with social issues. Beyond technical mastery, Yüce explores themes of identity, neglect, and systemic injustice. His work often evokes a dual response: familiarity through meticulous detail, and a lingering unease in the realities it reveals.
He received his primary artistic training at Uludağ University (1997–2001) and later earned his Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Marmara University in 2017.
Alongside his studio practice, Yüce has maintained a longstanding career in arts education. Since 2001, he has taught in various Turkish regions—including Şanlıurfa, Domaniç, and Tavşanlı—and has served as a painting instructor at the Ümran Baradan Fine Arts High School in Kemalpaşa, İzmir since 2008.
