Artist Profile

Introduction and Experience
Ren Zhe, born in Beijing in 1983, graduated from the Department of Sculpture, Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, with both bachelor's and master's degrees. He is a council member of the China Sculpture Institute, a member of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and a youth cultural ambassador for the "Panda Art World Tour." From a young age, he explored the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures. His early works, featuring Chinese chess pieces placed on Western chessboards, sparked reflection on the dialogue between Chinese and Western cultures. Ren Zhe skillfully draws inspiration from traditional Chinese philosophy and Zen meditation, blending them with the spirit of Western modern art to create a unique sculptural language. His works are full of vitality and meaning, presenting a core spirit of "accumulating power externally, manifesting form on the surface, and concentrating the spirit within."
Ren Zhe's works often revolve around Chinese history, literature, and traditional heroic figures. His pieces, created using various media including steel, bronze, and cement, present powerful and robust forms that are imbued with emotion and philosophical reflection. Since 2005, he has been active in exhibitions both domestically and internationally, including the Beijing 798 Biennale, the Shanghai Art Fair, the Hong Kong International Art Fair, and the New York Asia Contemporary Art Fair. His works are collected by major art institutions and private collectors both at home and abroad, and have won numerous international awards, showcasing a perfect fusion of Eastern cultural heritage and contemporary sculptural innovation.
