Artist Introduction

Introduction and Experience
Born and currently residing in the UK in 1961, the artist is 60 years old. He graduated with a degree in engineering in 1983 and is an avid traveler. He possessed artistic talent from a young age, beginning oil painting at age 12. He served as a design consultant for major international design consultancies in the Middle East before returning to the commercial art world in 2003, where he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts. His style is realist, influenced and inspired by post-Renaissance Romanticism. He employs strong contrasts and dramatic light and shadow, using only palette knives and limited paints to directly mix colors on the canvas to capture the emotions and muscular tension of his subjects, resulting in works that are both mysterious and elegant yet intensely passionate. To date, as of 2020, he has participated in at least 55 group and solo exhibitions (including 13 art fairs) and received 23 awards (including two first prizes). This year marks his seventh participation in the Taipei New Art Fair since 2012.
