Introduction and Experience
Sanzi (b. 1965, Yangzhou, Jiangsu, China) is a contemporary Chinese painter and writer whose work is deeply informed by Daoist philosophy. Guided by ideals of harmony with nature, simplicity, and the unity of humanity and the cosmos, he creates contemplative visual worlds that transcend everyday experience and invite reflection on the relationship between the individual and the natural order.
Characterized by soft tonal palettes, refined linearity, and subtle treatments of light and atmosphere, Sanzi’s paintings often place solitary figures within expansive landscapes of mountains, clouds, and mist. Rather than asserting human dominance, his compositions emphasize the smallness of humanity within the vastness of nature, cultivating a serene and meditative aesthetic imbued with both Daoist and Zen sensibilities.
Sanzi has exhibited internationally across major art capitals including Hong Kong, New York, Miami, Taipei, and Singapore, and has participated in major international art fairs such as Art Basel. His works are held in private collections worldwide and have achieved notable results at leading auction houses. He is currently represented by Taglialatella Galleries, reflecting his established presence within the international contemporary art scene.
