Artist Introduction

Introduction and Experience
Thibault Jandot began creating street art under the pseudonym "Coeur" (French for "heart") in 2009. After three years of studying applied arts, he shifted his focus to oil painting. This 27-year-old artist (born in 1985) presents the relationship between humans and animals in a very alternative, bizarre, and slightly ironic way, his style straddling the line between street art and academic painting.
In his work, humans, as the most intelligent of all beings, are often the objects of examination. When asked why he paints animals, he replied, "Since I started creating art, animal paintings have become increasingly prevalent, and I don't know why, but I can always sense the emotions that animals express."
His world is undoubtedly a collection of animal fables. The theme of his paintings is often "portraits" of animals—the brushwork is simple yet contains a contemporary critical spirit, and he particularly emphasizes the facial emotions of the animal protagonists.
His talent is limitless; he doesn't want to choose a specific future, he wants to pursue both! In addition to doing street graffiti under the pseudonym "Coeur," he travels to the Vendée coast under his real name "Thibault Jandot," continuously sketching, painting sailboats, and his beloved seagulls...; through his technique and mastery of light, movement, and structure, he depicts his passion and awareness of his surroundings.
If he had only wanted to find a job to make a living after graduating from university instead of being motivated to continue painting, and if he hadn't been studying applied arts in Nantes at the same time and doing graffiti with his companions in abandoned factories, his talent would not have been discovered by galleries, and he wouldn't be the "Thibault Jandot" he is today!
