Artist Introduction
Introduction and Experience
Born in Douliu City, Yunlin County, Taiwan Province in 1964, he graduated from the Department of Fine Arts and Design at Fuxing Commercial and Industrial Vocational High School in Yonghe City, Taipei County in 1983. He has worked in traditional animation, advertising design, television and film art direction, and illustration for newspapers and magazines.
In recent years, I have devoted myself to art business, exploring how art and the market can complement each other. I have also transformed this experience into creative elements, using oil paintings and other materials to express my thoughts on art. While reflecting on how to implement the concept of artistic creation, I have also sorted out a mode of expression that suits me and strives to be closer to the viewer.
The artist believes that "as long as there are viewers and as long as painting is enjoyable, the conditions for creation are met"; "If there is one more viewer, it is an encouragement; if a painting finds a kindred spirit, it is even more gratifying."
Creation always begins with subjects that interest and please the eye, then seeks to interact with the audience. Of course, what one is interested in may not be what one can paint. Those that one likes but cannot paint should be left aside, waiting for the opportune moment when "a new path opens up." This is because a painting is closely related to the artist's personality and style. The process of "waiting" is inevitably bitter, but it is also the opportunity for a breakthrough.
I particularly love brightly colored, patterned creations. They are not a realistic representation of space, but rather a composition of shapes, colors, dots, and lines, inheriting the freehand brushstrokes and sense of space from Eastern cultural paintings. They often abstractly represent the artist's inner world, making them intriguing and worthy of repeated contemplation.
In terms of composition, the emphasis is on dramatic tension, a visual experience. The combination of two-dimensional space constructed with lines and realistic three-dimensional techniques creates a fresh effect. The displacement of different spaces stimulates imagination—this is tension. Deconstructing existing objects/spaces is like dismantling a stage, removing the background, reorganizing relationships, and searching for something beyond the "taken-for-granted." The image becomes a psychological space, allowing for boundless imagination, and artistic interest naturally arises.
