Artist Profile

Introduction and Experience
Yang Yanjhu (b. 1998, Taiwan) focuses primarily on temples, churches, and historic architecture, drawn to the distinctive forms and the sense of time embedded within old buildings. Her passion for sketching began in high school through online communities and later matured during her university years, when she traveled extensively with mentors and fellow artists to sketch on location.
Through on-site sketching, Yang has cultivated a personal way of observing and interpreting the world. Whether drawing in quiet solitude or engaging with fellow artists in lively urban settings, she uses her brush to capture both the surrounding landscapes and her own state of mind.
For Yang, drawing is both a journey and a form of reflection, transforming moments of observation and experience into a personal visual diary. Her works become records of presence in space and time, turning everyday encounters with architecture into meditations on memory, place, and human experience.
