Artist Introduction

Introduction and Experience
After returning to China from studying in Japan, Yu Lianchun devoted himself to the creation of Terracotta sculptures. Through teaching, he introduced Terracotta's creative techniques to more people, opening up a new field of art sculpture. After years of hard work, he finally overcame the difficulties and limitations of collapse during the clay sculpting process, and found a supporting method and sculpting technique for innovative thinking.
He applied the unique rough texture of Terracotta to the sculpting of the human body, expressing rich emotions and complex feelings. He also transformed the concept of sketching in painting into sculpture, quickly and accurately grasping the lines and structure of the human body in motion. Without unnecessary back and forth, he blended his creative temperament to release a subtle charm, creating a unique "Yu Lianchun" style in the contemporary art world.
In recent years, Yu Lianchun has been constantly challenging and surpassing himself. In addition to trying to use various media such as stainless steel, rose silver series, silver and copper to create rich variations in his works, he also yearns to give his sculptures a new life by mixing different materials. So he found the conflict between iron and Terracotta, and brought out the point of integration in the conflict, thus creating a dynamic iron-welded art that combines strength and softness.
