Work Description

Perfect Harmony No.3 places greater emphasis on movement and layered transformation than the quiet lyricism of Perfect Harmony No.1. Employing a sophisticated semi-abstract visual language, Liu Jiutong constructs the composition through stratified forms that evoke shifting terrain and traces of water. Color transitions subtly between cool and warm tones, while forms emerge and recede as though time itself had left its imprint upon the canvas.

The harmony evoked here is not the stillness of a distant landscape, but one that gradually unfolds through change. As the eye lingers across the composition, an inner sense of order quietly reveals itself.

Where no form appears, perfect harmony still resides;

Where a solitary wisp of smoke rises, there is a human dwelling.

—Su Shi, Song Dynasty poet
