Work Description

Crafted in Qom, Iran, this 100 × 160 cm hand-knotted silk carpet was personally woven by master carpet artist Mr. Moosavi over eighteen months. Made entirely from pure silk, it features an exceptionally high knot density and a refined, lustrous surface that responds to light with a fluid elegance. At its center lies the classic “Flower Star Chart” motif, where radiating petals unfold outward like stars gathered across the night sky, symbolizing cosmic order and the eternal cycles of life.

Deep midnight blue forms the dominant ground, layered with subtle variations of blue that evoke a celestial river beneath the night sky. Gold-orange, pomegranate red, and ivory unfold across the petals and borders like bursts of light. Surrounding motifs reveal intricate detail, embodying the traditional Persian ideal of the garden—a tranquil and eternal realm of spiritual contemplation. Within this intricate composition, technical mastery meets the continuation of his father’s unfinished painterly dream.

Whispering Blooms of the Night Sky

Deep blue unfolds like the night,

each thread of silk a whisper of stars.

At the center, flowers bloom,

not to dazzle the eye,

but to meet the gaze of time.

The borders glow with a gentle fire,

carrying the warmth of orange and red.

They weave an unfinished dream,

as though someone, somewhere far away,

were softly saying:

“I remember the sky you never finished painting.”
