Work Description
Originating from Qom, Iran, this silk masterpiece was personally woven by master carpet artist Mr. Qayoumi over eighteen months. Employing a highly refined, high-density symmetrical knotting technique and pure natural dyes, the work preserves the refined essence of traditional Persian motifs. An azure ground evokes tranquility and wisdom, while golden-orange accents bring an opulent array of floral and vegetal ornaments to life, evoking a celestial canopy spread across the floor.
At the heart of the design, an openwork floral and vase motif symbolizes eternal life and abundance, while floral vines blossom in intricate layers from the four corners. The composition achieves a rare balance between technical precision and rhythmic visual harmony. More than an ornamental work, the carpet becomes a poem woven into time, quietly whispering the depth and enduring spirit of Persian civilization.
Ode to the Azure Gold
Within the stillness of blue,
gold quietly comes into bloom,
like stars fallen into a royal garden.
Each thread, each knot,
is a brushstroke of time,
weaving an unfinished poem
through warp and weft.
If you lean closer and listen,
you may hear an ancient breath
whisper softly:
Beauty never calls for attention,
yet it never falls silent.
