Artist Introduction

Introduction and Experience
Christiane Vleugels displayed exceptional artistic talent from a young age, using everything around her as her subject matter. At 12, she entered an art academy specializing in painting and sculpture, where she was taught by the renowned contemporary Belgian artist Herman Cornelis. At 17, Christiane Vleugels studied at SISA, dedicating three years to decorative painting, advertising, and nature painting. She then successfully applied to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, where she received two years of plein air painting training, further deepening her understanding of oil painting techniques.
In 1986, Christiane Vleugels married her first husband, Matthew Passion, and moved to Keulen, Germany, where she lived for six years. During her last two years in Germany, her work was continuously exhibited at the renowned 'Gallerie des beaux-art'. From then on, her work even spread to Egypt and Liverpool. Although she experienced a period of hardship where she had to make a living by painting reproductions, the resilient Christiane learned many techniques that would allow her future creations to shine brighter, and she looked forward to one day allowing her passion for art to fully blossom...
Later, she was commissioned by the Belgian military to paint portraits of King Boudewijn and Queen Fabiola of Belgium. She was also represented by the renowned German gallery Gallerie Des Beaux Arts. To date, she has held 12 group exhibitions and 10 solo exhibitions, with collectors located in Europe, Egypt, and the United Kingdom.
