Artist Introduction
Introduction and Experience
Liu Hanwen graduated from Fu-Hsing Arts University and the Department of Fine Arts at Chinese Culture University, and also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Spain. Over his more than ten-year artistic career, he has held numerous solo exhibitions and won many awards. With a background in interior design, Liu Hanwen excels at using the translucency and rendering of acrylic paint to create a sense of mystery and elusiveness in his paintings. His unique style combines the delicate sensibility of an artist with the rational structural abilities of a designer, transcending the theoretical constraints of academic art. He skillfully integrates design thinking into his painting, creating works with rich visual layers.
Through meticulous observation, Liu Hanwen vividly portrays his subjects, imbuing them with a unique spiritual charm. In his painting, Liu Hanwen blends Chinese and Western techniques, creating works with a bold and unrestrained style, fluid and expressive use of water, while paying meticulous attention to detail—truly breathtaking! In his use of materials, Liu Hanwen breaks through the limitations of traditional pigments, incorporating metallic paints and powders from building materials, making his works easier to preserve in humid climates.
Liu Hanwen, known for his innovative and diverse subject matter in painting, recently released a series of works featuring Gundam robots. Drawing upon his years of collecting models, he depicts the central themes and symbolic spirit of different Gundam robots. His series of vintage car paintings, inspired by coffee, is also intriguing. Through these rich and varied themes, viewers can savor the artist's understanding and insights into all things. Each work tells a story of a turbulent and fascinating life journey.
