Introduction and Experience
It is said that while weaving this carpet, Mr. Qayoumi would often sit across from his ten-year-old son beneath the warm glow of a lamp. As he tied each row of silk knots with practiced precision, his son would softly recite classical poetry into the quiet evening air. Night after night, intricate floral patterns and ancient verses intertwined through the passing years, allowing poetry and memory to become woven into the fabric itself.
When the carpet was finally completed after years of patient work, he named it Ode to the Azure Gold. Reflecting on the long journey of its creation, he observed: “This is more than a carpet; it stands as the most beautiful memory my child and I have ever shared.” This finished work thus carries not only the weaver’s technical mastery, but also the warmth of familial love and the enduring presence of poetry.
